USANA Olympic Spotlight: Great Britain Short Track Speed Skating
![]()
They may not be the biggest team going into the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, but they’re certainly making a lot of noise. The Great Britain Short Track Speed Skating team has been burning the competition this year, and they are definitely the team to watch.
The 2009–2010 season has been one for the ages for this incredible team. Their most recent success came just weeks ago at the Speed Skating World Cup, where Great Britain Short Track Speed Skating was nothing short of spectacular. In Heerenveen, Netherlands, team veteran Jon Eley became the first British Short Track Speed Skater to win gold at a World Cup event, and three other male skaters claimed top 10 places as well.
The women were just as successful when Sarah Lindsay won a silver medal in the Ladies 500m, making her the first female in Great Britain Short Track history to win a medal at a World Cup event, and solidifying her place among the top female skaters in the world.
The team is setting a furious pace going into the Olympics and is making noise the favored teams just can’t ignore. What will happen in Vancouver? Is this the year the dark horse British team skates to victory? Only time will tell…
USANA is proud to sponsor Great Britain Short Track Speed Skating. Event times are spread throughout the 2010 Winter Olympics, so check your local listings for dates and times of Short Track races. Don’t miss a minute of the action!
