USANA Associates across the world started their New Year off right by hitting their RESET™ button last week. And it was a huge success! RESET Week saw Associates supporting each other as everyone pushed to start the year off with the first—and most important—step toward achieving those New Year’s resolutions.
Besides the support of friends and family, RESET Week participants were also able to follow great advice from USANA fan and fitness expert Kathy Kaehler* on the What’s Up USANA? blog. It’s amazing to have someone like Kathy on the USANA team. In case you missed out, here are some of her fitness tips.
1. Make it a priority to exercise in the morning.
2. Make exercise possible by keeping your workout clothes and shoes close by.
3. Doing short bouts of a variety of activities will always add up at the end of the day. Do not discount the benefits of taking the stairs, carrying grocery bags, walking around the block, doing ten pushups, walking a dog, or completing any other mini workout that you can put into your day.
4. Put your exercise in a planner or calendar. Keeping your workouts like an appointment will help you stick to your program.
5. Never give up. Every day is a new day.
RESET Week may be over, but that doesn’t mean your journey to find the new you is over. Keep your focus on maintaining that momentum you built up. And if you haven’t hit your personal RESET button, it’s still a great time to get your friends and family together for a RESET party or weight-loss challenge—a little friendly competition can provide some extra incentive.
So stock up on your favorite USANA Foods to stay on track with your new, healthy habits or go get your RESET Kits, find out more about throwing a RESET party, and use Kathy Kaehler’s advice to start making 2010 the year of the new you.

They may not be the biggest team going into the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, but they’re certainly making a lot of noise. The Great Britain Short Track Speed Skating team has been burning the competition this year, and they are definitely the team to watch.
The 2009–2010 season has been one for the ages for this incredible team. Their most recent success came just weeks ago at the Speed Skating World Cup, where Great Britain Short Track Speed Skating was nothing short of spectacular. In Heerenveen, Netherlands, team veteran Jon Eley became the first British Short Track Speed Skater to win gold at a World Cup event, and three other male skaters claimed top 10 places as well.
The women were just as successful when Sarah Lindsay won a silver medal in the Ladies 500m, making her the first female in Great Britain Short Track history to win a medal at a World Cup event, and solidifying her place among the top female skaters in the world.
The team is setting a furious pace going into the Olympics and is making noise the favored teams just can’t ignore. What will happen in Vancouver? Is this the year the dark horse British team skates to victory? Only time will tell…
USANA is proud to sponsor Great Britain Short Track Speed Skating. Event times are spread throughout the 2010 Winter Olympics, so check your local listings for dates and times of Short Track races. Don’t miss a minute of the action!
Hello Everyone, Please read this post and help the ones who are suffering in Haiti. Duane
We spent Thursday in Los Angeles sharing the USANA message with a host of celebrities, and we’ll share the same information on Friday with a new group of Hollywood stars.
We sent tweets, updated our Facebook status, and wrote blog posts featuring celebrities who learned about USANA and its top-rated nutritional supplements.
That is fine, but we all know what’s being done here in no way compares to what is happening 3,000 miles from Los Angeles right now.
When I returned to my hotel room tonight I flipped on CNN and watched Dr. Sanjay Gupta tend to a 15-day-old baby who had suffered a severe laceration on her head following the massive earthquake in Haiti. The good news, Dr. Gupta said, is that the child, whom he cradled in one arm, doesn’t appear have a skull fracture.
Talk about a reality check.
It’s heartbreaking to see the turmoil and unimaginable suffering the people of Haiti are experiencing following Tuesday’s devastating earthquake.
Several of us at USANA received a message from Dave Phillips, president of Children’s Hunger Fund, encouraging us to call upon our immense network of caring and compassionate Associates to help in the relief effort.
I wanted to share part of Dave’s note with you with the hopes you would pass it along to your friends, followers, or other social networking connections.
Here is a link to a downloadable flyer (PDF) to share on Twitter, Facebook, or other social media sites: http://bit.ly/6QTS2T
I know many of you contribute to CHF through your Autoship each month. For that, USANA and CHF thank you. If you don’t, this would be a great time to start (Item #899).
But for now, please visit CHF to donate or call (800) 708-7589. A simple $24 donation will provide food and other aid to a family in need.
USANA has already helped in supplying aid to the Haitian people as some of the funding for an initial 1,800 Food Paks came from USANA Associates who support CHF monthly through their Autoship contributions, CHF said.
Here is part of a message Dave Phillips sent the day following the devastating Jan. 12 earthquake:
At this hour, the children and families of Port-au-Prince, Haiti, are in misery. A massive 7.0 magnitude earthquake hit the city, flattening homes, hospitals, and government buildings. Haiti is the poorest and most underdeveloped nation in the entire Western Hemisphere, so this tragedy is being experienced by the poorest of the poor. You have read the news, so you know the devastation is everywhere.
By God’s grace, we just finished training the pastors and ministry volunteers who will make up our brand new Mercy Network in Haiti and the Dominican Republic (DR). These churches are well established in the impacted areas and are ready to mobilize in an effort to respond to the devastation.
The food we sent them last month just arrived on Wednesday. That means that if this earthquake had happened last week, CHF would not have had an opportunity to provide direct help so quickly. Instead of being used in our planned distributions, we have released all of the Food Paks on board (1,800 in all) to be used to make an immediate impact in relieving the current suffering.
Right now we anticipate needs for canned, ready-to-eat food, water, blankets, tarps, hygiene items, first aid, and cooking implements.
As you know, CHF is known as one of the most cost-effective charities in America. With 99% of all revenue going to programs serving children in need, you can be certain that your gift will be used with integrity. You also have the confidence of knowing that we are working with a trustworthy network of pastors and ministry leaders who have been established in Haiti for 18 years. It is because of this trusted network that we are working so feverishly to help. We know their efforts will be widespread and effective.
Thank you for your compassion and help as we serve the needs of the children and families devastated by this disaster in Haiti. Let us glorify God by providing assistance to those who are suffering right now.
Thank you for your continued support. Here is more information about CHF’s earthquake relief effort.
Note: We’ll post Kathy Kaehler’s final RESET Week tip in a bit. Please visit the Facebook Event to watch an exclusive video.
One day to go. Here is Kathy’s RESET Week Tip #4 enjoy. Duane
We’re almost there!!! I am in L.A. today and tomorrow at the Golden Globes event with members of USANA’s PR department. It’s going to be so awesome sharing with celebrities what I now know about USANA and its top-rated nutritional supplements. It should be an exciting two days!
But I know you’re powering through the final days of RESET Week, so here’s another tip to help get you to the finish line.
Put your exercise in a planner or calendar. Keeping your workouts like an appointment will help you stick to your program.
Find a workout partner that can keep the same schedule, and you will find tremendous success and results from this way of living.
By now you are probably eating your RESET meals and snacks like clockwork. If you’re ready for a change or if plain veggies just aren’t your style, try using salt-free seasonings like Mrs. Dash or season your cooked vegetables with lemon and herbs.
I believe your health is your number one asset and at 66, I have the good fortune to be in very good health.
I am also very fortunate to live in a small town that has a new YMCA a few blocks from my home. One of my friends I workout with introduced me to the sport of triathlons and we competed in a team sprint triathlon in early May, 2010 and now I'm hooked.
I am now training for my first triathlon and will complete as an individual in a sprint triathlon in August, 2010. with the ultimate goal of competing in Kona, HI at the Ford World Championship Ironman in Oct. 2011.
