So, you haven’t fully bought into the concept of running with a metronome. You say “I like to run with my music!” I can understand that and I am here to solve the problem for you. As you probably realize, songs are performed and recorded at different tempos, and most of those tempos are not 90 or 180 beats per minute. In this video tutorial, I show you how to convert your favorite MP3s to 180 beats per minute. First thing you will need to do is download and install the following three free programs:
Though not mentioned in the video due to time constraints, if the MixMeister programs determines a song to be 110 bpm or less convert it to 90 beats per minute as opposed to 180 beats per minute. You follow the same formula, but instead divide the new goal of 90 by the MixMeister calculated beats per minute.
Example:
You want to listen to a song that is 110 beats per minute. You divide 90 by 110, which equals 82%. So instead of increasing the tempo, we would be decreasing it. In the EXPstudio Audio Editor, under Effects, go to Time Shift and click the left hand arrow until it reaches 82%. All other directions should be the same.
